PASTORAL CARE SPEAKER SERIES: Journeying Through Illness

Over the last the several years Edmonton Archdiocese has been working to develop and implement ‘best practices’ for all employees, clergy and lay volunteers in the Archdiocese.

  1. Everyone involved in ministry is required to complete Information Form, sign Covenant of Care form and attend Called to Protect Training. Those involved in higher risk ministries; Pastoral Care, Children’s Liturgy, Liturgy Committee Members, RCIA and Sacramental Preparation teachers, Parish Council, Finance Committee member, Counters will require a Police Information Check. A Vulnerable Person’s Check is also required for those working directly with youth and the elderly. A Child Intervention Check is also needed for people working directly with children/youth.
  2. All adults, involved in any ministry are required to attend a Called to Protect training session. This training is part of an overall initiative of the diocese to provide information and training to all volunteers and staff regarding the protection of vulnerable people. It is required for all adults in Ministries.
