PROVIDING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT IN OUR PARISHES

Best Practices

Over the past six years all parishes within the Archdiocese have developed several “best practices” for all employees, priests and lay volunteers.

This Volunteer Management Program has two important components:

  1. Paperwork for everyone involved in ministry -- which includes registration forms and the signing of a Covenant of Care document. For those who work in higher risk ministries (such as key holders, counters, children’s liturgy, Communion to the sick, liturgical coordinators, RCIA and Sacramental Preparation teachers, Parish Council and Finance Committee members ...) the paperwork includes a Police Check. For those who work directly with youth and the elderly a Vulnerable Person’s Check also needs to be completed.
    By late Spring 2019, we will be contacting everyone involved in ministry at both parishes to ensure that all paperwork is completed and/or updated. NOTE: Police Checks and personal information needs to be updated every four years.
    NOTE: if you are involved in multiple ministries only ONE set of paperwork is required.
  2. Education, Awareness and Prevention of Sexual Abuse – all adults who work in any form of ministry in our churches, all employees and all pastors, are REQUIRED to attend a 2.5 hour video/discussion session entitled: Called to Protect.  You may attend these sessions at another parish. NOTE: if you attend a session at another parish, please contact our office at 780-468-4071 and provide the date and location of the session that you attended.

  • Saturday, January 26 from 9:30 am to noon at St. John Bosco
  • Saturday, February 9 from 9:30 am to noon at St. Dominic Savio Parish.
  • Wednesday, February 27 from 7 – 9:30 pm at Resurrection

Impact of LRT Construction

The LRT construction and neighborhood renewal is a complex urban construction project and the impact is being felt within the entire community. Due to the extensive disruption and construction please drive and park with caution. Parking on 95 Avenue is permanently removed.
